Mobile Core

The mobile core may require AC, DC or both types of power. Our range of battery solutions provide backup for UPS systems or DC plants. And our broad offering of DC power and distribution systems can be augmented with inverters to deliver both AC and DC to the mobile core facility.

While macro cells and small cells are the visible elements of 5G networks, the mobile core is the behind-the-scenes element that manages all the mobile voice, data, and internet connections. The core is designed to never fail, to work 24/7 regardless of the grid. And EnerSys® equipment helps keep the core meet its online objectives.

EnerSys® batteries help ensure the reliability and resiliency of the mobile core. Our battery solutions include 2V and 12V versions, ranging from traditional Flooded Lead Acid (FLA) and Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) to innovative Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) and Lithium-ion (Li-ion) technologies. With a wide variety of sizes and shapes, we have the right battery for each application, ensuring the site remains operational.

In 48Vdc offices, our Cordex® power systems charge the batteries while supplying power to the network gear. These systems come in various sizes and configurations, utilizing common rectifiers and the same CXC HP system controller to simplify training while minimizing your need for spare equipment.

The DC power is distributed through our Battery Distribution Fuse Bays (BDFB) and intelligent distribution panels. The intelligence enhances capacity planning by alerting the operator to when they can and cannot readily add loads, improving the plan for future power system and battery expansions and upgrades as the network grows.

The AMPS HP2™ supplies AC power to data equipment in today’s mobile core offices. This modular AC power system offers telecom grade reliability, 95% efficiency, hot swappable inverter modules, and a compact footprint. By eliminating the need for a static transfer switch, AMPS HP2™ achieves improved reliability and offers seamless transfers with zero transfer time. The integrated Cordex® CXC-HP controller features monitoring and management of the complete system through a web-based GUI and local LCD touch screen.
