5G Macro Cells

Macro cells are the primary building blocks in wireless networks, providing extensive coverage from towers and rooftops. EnerSys® meets the challenge of adding 5G capabilities to existing sites by providing our customers with the right amount of full-featured power and energy storage in the least amount of space.

Adding 5G radios to existing macro cell sites requires different types power and energy storage solutions. EnerSys® provides remotely managed power systems with increased density, higher efficiency, and the ability to elevate voltage for powering devices at the top of the tower. Our energy storage solutions pack more energy is a smaller footprint. And our cabinets package power, radio equipment, and batteries into thermally managed equipment cabinets.

EnerSys® doesn’t just make the parts–we make the complete solution. We package radio equipment, power, or batteries in our outdoor cabinets to minimize the footprint at the site and accelerate the installation. We deploy cabinets equipped with network equipment and power, site support cabinets equipped with power and batteries, and battery backup cabinets when extended run time is needed. These easy-to-install enclosures look the same, making the site more visually appealing.

The Cordex® CXC HP intelligent controller that manages our power systems is a power tool that enables remote monitoring and management of the power equipment at the site. The CXC HP is also a portal to the controller that manages the thermal management system in the cabinets. With EnerSys® 5G power solutions, you can know how your equipment is performing without needing to roll a truck to the site.

Our wide array of batteries ensures we provide the solution that precisely matches your reserve time, temperature, and space requirements. From traditional Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) to Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) to Lithium-ion (Li-ion), we have the flavor that meets your need.

CXPS-E3 400A Power System

The CXPS-E3 power system simplifies the addition of 5G to existing macro cell sites. The low profile E3 supplies up to 400 Amps of output current and distributes it through 26 load breaker positions. All distribution connections and controller I/O contacts are front accessible, making it well-suited for mounting in a cabinet or in a rack inside an equipment shelter. The CXPS-E3 is equipped with the Cordex® CXC HP system controller for single point control, advanced battery diagnostics, data logging, local and remote monitoring, and SNMP alarming.
